Brooklyn was born and raised in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan. In 2015, she completed her Juris Doctor from the College of Law, University of Saskatchewan. She was called to the bar in Saskatchewan in 2016 after completing her articling year. Since 2016, she has practiced almost exclusively in the area of family and child protection law.

From 2016 to 2025, she lived and practiced in Northeastern Ontario, gaining extensive experience in family litigation, both in private practice and as Family Duty Counsel/Staff Lawyer with legal Aid Ontario, where she provided a range of services for family law matters, in child protection, parenting and decision-making, support, and property division, including appeals.

An active member of the legal community, Brooklyn has served as a Lawyer Supervisor for Pro Bono Students Canada, as well as been a member of the Cochrane Law Association, the Nipissing law Association, and the Sudbury Colloquium Legal Conference Steering Committee, where she helped organize professional development content for practitioners and members of the judiciary across Northeastern Ontario.
